Range Lake Same-Day Clinic Dr. David Wong – Panel Physician for IRCC (in the Northwest Territories) Immigration Medical Instructions – Updated September 2026 There are two ways to complete an Immigration Medical Examination (IME): Upfront IME: You have not yet received an IMM1017E form from IRCC. There is no IRCC deadline. Arrange your laboratory testing, or plan to use the same-day walk-in laboratory process, then contact Dr. Wong's clinic to schedule your IME. IRCC-Requested IME: You have received an IMM1017E form or medical instructions from IRCC. Follow the deadline stated in your IRCC instructions, commonly 30 days. Arrange your laboratory testing, or plan to use the same-day walk-in laboratory process, and contact Dr. Wong's clinic promptly to schedule your IME. Immigration Medicals are preferably scheduled in advance. Walk-in examinations may be accommodated when clinic capacity allows. ________________________________________ Step 1 – Arrange Your Laboratory Testing You have two options: Option A – Book a laboratory appointment Call Stanton Territorial Hospital Laboratory: 867-767-9300 ext. 46673 Tell them that you require blood work for an Immigration Medical Examination. Required blood tests include: creatinine, HIV, and syphilis. The chest X-ray does not require an appointment. It is done on a walk-in basis at Stanton Territorial Hospital. OR Option B – Same-Day Walk-In Laboratory Testing Same-day laboratory appointments may be available through the Downtown Primary Care Laboratory. 1. Go to the Downtown Primary Care Laboratory at approximately 7:30 a.m. The laboratory is downtown beside the Independent Grocer and connected by the skywalk. Register and obtain a same-day appointment time. 2. Go to Stanton Territorial Hospital. Register at the hospital and pay the required hospital fee. 3. Complete your chest X-ray at Stanton Territorial Hospital. The chest X-ray is walk-in and does not require an appointment. 4. Return to the Downtown Primary Care Laboratory at your assigned time. Complete the required blood work. IMPORTANT: Complete the blood work and chest X-ray on the SAME DAY whenever possible. If you complete them on different days, you may be charged an additional $200 hospital fee. Do not leave after completing only the blood work. Please make sure the chest X-ray is also completed that day.
Step 2 – Contact Our Clinic ONLY After Lab Date Is Confirmed Once you have a confirmed hospital lab date, email us: rlwiclinic@outlook.com Include: • Your full legal name (exactly as on passport) • Date of birth • IME number (if available) • Confirmed hospital lab date • Copy/photo of passport • IMM1017E form (if you have it) We will then schedule your IME at our clinic. ________________________________________ IME Location: The IME is done at: Range Lake Same-Day Clinic, 103-487 Range Lake Road, Yellowknife, NT (Second floor, Joie de Vivre Spa building, next to Discovery Mine) The IME is usually done outside regular clinic hours: • After 9:00 pm on weekdays • Scheduled times on weekends ________________________________________ Chaperone Requirement If you are female, you must bring a chaperone (friend, partner, parent, sibling, etc.). Without a chaperone, the medical exam will not proceed. ________________________________________ Fees Physician fee: $375 + GST No-show or cancellation less than 36 hours: $187.5 Payment: debit or credit card Hospital charges (paid separately to the hospital): Approximately $200 for blood work and chest X-ray. If pregnant: Chest X-ray must be postponed until after delivery. You will need to pay the hospital again for the X-ray (approximately $200). ________________________________________ What to Bring • Passport (mandatory) • IMM1017E form (if available) • COVID-19 vaccine record (dates only; no certificate required) • ALL medications • Any relevant past medical records ________________________________________ Important Note About Names (Especially Single-Name Passports) For some clients (especially from Punjab), passports may show only one name. If your passport has only ONE name: We will assign a technical format in eMedical to comply with the system requirements. Occasionally, laboratory systems may reject submissions due to a mismatch in name formatting. If this occurs, we will resolve it. This has happened before, and we have always successfully completed submissions. ________________________________________ Timeline IME appointment: 1-2 hours, depending on complexity. Hospital lab and X-ray: scheduled separately by the hospital. HIV and syphilis are processed in Edmonton (approximately 3 days). IRCC requires submission within 10 days of IME. If laboratory booking is delayed beyond this window, we may need to reschedule your IME. ________________________________________ Primary Communication All communication is via email: rlwiclinic@outlook.com

You will give us or update us with your current email address during the clinic visit.
You will be given a password. If you lose your password, it will not be replaced via phone or email. You must return to the clinic to get it reissued after we verify your identity.
Your lab work result will be emailed to you as an encrypted attachment. The email will have the subject line.
“Email from the Range Lake Clinic Ref No: XXXX“ and the date and time.
You will use the password provided to decrypt the attachment.
Lab work will be emailed to you once it is available. Please note: not all your lab work will be available simultaneously; you will receive one or more emails about the results. An interpretation and advice will be given regarding your lab work.
You will always get an email regardless of whether the lab work is regular. If asked to provide one, please provide a “read receipt.”
Please reply to the email (using the same subject line) to acknowledge that you have received it.
IMPORTANT:
If you do not receive the email from the clinic A WEEK after your lab work is done, check your junk mail first. If it is still not found, please email rlwiclinic@outlook.com with the subject line “I have not received my expected result yet”. In the message, please state your full name, your current phone (preferably your cell phone, which could receive text messages), and the password provided (to verify your identity). No news is not good news. It means something is missing. Please email or call us to let us know you have not yet received your lab results, so we can identify any missing results and send them to you. If we do not accept your valid request, you have received the result, be it regular or abnormal, and you will take appropriate action (such as follow-up with your family doctor). Other than email, the clinic will not inform you of your result otherwise.
You must follow this email procedure to avoid missing any critical lab work.
